Privacy, enforced

Your images stay in the harbor.

Most converters say they delete your file after an hour. We never receive it in the first place, and you don't have to take our word for it: the browser itself blocks the converter from sending anything.

How it works

Four steps, all inside your browser tab.

The same pipeline runs on every image, in about a second for a typical logo.

  1. #1F3D36
    #F1E6CF
    #E07A3F

    Pick the colours

k-means finds the main colours, then snaps each to an exact pixel from your image, so your brand orange stays #E07A3F.

  2. Split into layers

Every colour becomes its own mask. Toggle, recolour or remove a layer before anything is traced.

  3. Trace the outlines

Each mask becomes the simplest polygon that follows it, then smooth Bézier curves, with sharp corners kept sharp and as few nodes as possible.

  4. Stack without gaps

Lower layers run under the ones above, so edges overlap instead of meeting. No white hairlines when you scale, print or cut.

Before / after

Drag the line. Zoom in on the edges.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Still unsure? The privacy page shows how to check every claim on this page yourself.

Is SVG Harbor really free?
Yes. The converter is free forever, with no signup and no watermark. Pro adds batch conversion, larger images, saved presets and an offline app, and removes sponsor slots. You never need it to convert an image.
Do you ever see my images?
No. We never receive your images. The conversion runs in your browser, and the page's Content Security Policy blocks the converter from making network requests. You can confirm it in your browser's Network panel.
Why is there no cookie banner?
Because we don't set cookies or load third-party scripts. Visitor numbers come from our host's aggregated dashboard, so there is no analytics script and nothing to consent to.
Which files can I convert?
PNG and JPG. Logos, icons, line art and illustrations with flat colours give the cleanest results. Photos work with the Photo poster preset, which reduces them to a handful of colours.
How does the tracing work?
SVG Harbor splits your image into its main colours, makes one mask per colour and traces each mask into the polygon with the fewest edges that still follows it. Every bend then becomes either a sharp corner or a smooth Bézier curve. It all runs in your browser tab.
Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?
Yes. Use the Cut file preset: it outputs closed paths, removes specks and keeps one layer per colour, which Design Space imports as separate cut layers.
